Franklin – Marjorie Davis Whitehead, 84, passed away July 7, 2012. Mrs. Whitehead was born in Franklin a daughter of the late Paul Blake and Gladys Howell Davis. She was predeceased by her husband, Alvin Frank Whitehead, a son, William D. "Billy" Whitehead, a daughter-in-law, Betty Jo Whitehead, a brother, Beamon Davis and a sister, Josephine Barrett. Mrs. Whitehead was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Kaye W. Story and husband, Rubin, two sons, Frank Whitehead and wife, Barbara and Douglas H. Whitehead and wife, Sharon, a sister, Gladys D. Williams, daughter-in-law, Lorraine Whitehead, eight grandchildren, Blake, Ryan, Austin, and Caleb Whitehead, Ginny Lane, Erica Whitehead, Angela Story and Wesley Barnes, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A funeral will be held at 2 PM, Monday, July 9, 2012 at Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Wright officiating. The burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the funeral home from 6 to 8 PM and suggests memorial donations be made to Hunterdale Christian Church, 741 Hunterdale Rd., Franklin, VA 23851. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
