Como, NC – Margie Marie Hassell Young, 76, passed away on May 2, 2022 in Vidant Roanoke Chowan Hospital.  Born on October 9, 1945, in Tyrrell County, NC and a former resident of Newport News, VA, she was a daughter of the late Marvin Ray Hassell and Beulah Brickhouse Hassell.  She was also predeceased by her husband Carlton Bruce Young, Jr.

Margie was a member of New Vision Ministries in Murfreesboro.

Survivors include a daughter, Cynthia Gore Nichols and her husband Frank of Como; a son, C. Bruce Young II of Tillery, NC; a sister, Linda Gibbs and her husband, Robert of Swan Quarter, NC; two granddaughters, Jennifer Futrell and Ashley Eure and her husband Tony; and two great grandchildren, Londyn Futrell and Trinity Eure.

Services will be private.  Flowers may be sent to the family at 321 Mill Neck Road in Como or memorial donations may be made to New Vision Ministries, 1845 Beechwood Blvd., Murfreesboro, NC  27855.
