Margie Patterson Burt, 75, of Sedley, formerly of Richmond and Reedville, passed away April 26, 2016 at Sentara Norfolk Heart Hospital. Mrs. Burt was a native of Essex County and was a daughter of the late Luther and Miriam Patterson. She was predeceased by her son, Troy Burt and a sister, Jean Fleming.

She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. Margie was a graduate of Highland Springs High School.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 55 years, Gerald C. Burt, a brother, Bradley Patterson (Barbara) of Varina.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10AM Monday, May 2, 2016 at the Franklin Congregational Christian Church. The Rev. James H. Hyatt , Jr. will officiate. The interment will be at Roseland Cemetery in Reedville at 3:30 PM. Memorial donations may be made to Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 North High St., Franklin, VA, 23851.
