Suffolk – Margaret Modlin Spruill, 88, passed away July 31, 2022 at Accordious Health at Courtland. She was born and raised in Boykins and had lived in Como and Franklin. She was a daughter of the late Lulian Parker Modlin and Nettie Sadler Modlin and was also predeceased by her husband Leslie Earl Spruill, Jr.

She was also predeceased by a daughter Susan Elaine Spruill and her siblings Lulian Parker Modlin, Jr., Robert Modlin, Bess Payne, and Evelyn Winstead.

Mrs. Spruill was a graduate of Boykins High School and was a retired Paper Tester in the Humidity Room for Union Camp Corporation.

Left to cherish her memory is a daughter Gail Spruill Jones and husband George, one granddaughter, Jennifer Edwards, a step grandchild, Tamiko Bailey and husband Rufus, a foster daughter, Pamela Yeager, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A private funeral will be held at 3 PM, Saturday, August 13, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home. Burial will be private. Guests will be welcomed one hour prior to the service.
