Suffolk-Margaret Hughes Holland, 80, went to be with the Lord November 29, 2024. Margaret was a native of Colerain, NC. and was a daughter of the late George Worley Hughes and Adelaide Temperance Perry Hughes. She was predeceased by her first husband, James A. Darden, Sr., and her second husband , Elvers Henry Holland, four brother, Forest , Willie, George, and Marshall Hughes and two sisters, Ruth Whitley, and Edith Hughes.

Margaret was a 1962 graduate of Colerain High School and retired from Lipton Tea Co. She was a founding member of Jordans Crossing Ministries and had read the Bible completely eight times and was working on the ninth.

Left to cherish her memory is her son, James A. "Junior" Darden, Jr .and his wife Lisa, two grandsons, Brandon J. Darden, and Joshua A. Darden and his wife Maddy, and one great grandson, Meritt Andrew Darden.

A funeral will be held Tuesday December 3, 2024 at 1 PM in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Lewis officiating. The burial will follow at Beaver Dam Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday December 2, 2024 from 4 to 5:30 PM at the Funeral Home and suggests memorial donations be made to Jordans Crossing Ministries, 6733 South Quay Road , Suffolk, VA 23437.
