Carrsville- Margaret Powers Glover Council, 87, died September 29, 2009 at her home. Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Cornelius Harrison and May Thomas Powers and was the widow of Churchill Gibson Glover and David Campbell Council, Jr. Margaret was a retired licensed practical nurse and was for many years the office nurse for the late Dr. John Murray. She was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Carole G. Harrell and husband, Jack, of Norfolk and Connie Glover of Roanoke;
a sister, Evelyn P. Andreatta and husband, Andy, of Baltimore; two grandchildren, Jennifer Nicole Gay of Roanoke and Margaret "Tate" Embree of Carrsville; two great grandchildren, Adam Embree and MaCayla Servais. She was predeceased by a daughter, Brenda Carol Glover; three sisters, Thelma Simms, Nellie Austin and Frances Carr and two brothers, Stanley "Jimmy" Powers and Lewis F. Powers.
The funeral will be held at 2 pm Friday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Richard Peerey officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Horeb Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm today at the funeral home and suggests memorials be made to Beaver Dam Baptist Church or favorite charity.
