Marcella L. Stevens

Gloucester – Marcella Landis Stevens, 69, died November 1, 2008. Marcella was a former resident of Franklin, and was predeceased by her parents, Rex Long and Elizabeth W. Fulton and step-father, William H. Fulton. She was also predeceased by her second husband, Parker Darden, Sr. Marcella was retired from the Southampton County Department of Social Services and had been a member of the Franklin Congregational Church.
Survivors include her husband, Stanley L. Stevens; two daughters, Laura Carroll and Cindy Appel and husband, David, all of Virginia Beach; one son, Mark Darden of Franklin; one granddaughter, Harleigh Irizarry; step-children, Parker Darden, Jr., Richard Darden, Valerie Umphlette,, Donna Crowell, Kim Osterman, Wayne Stevens, Dale Stevens, and Colleen Singleton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at Poplar Spring Cemetery, Franklin, with the Rev. James H. Hyatt officiating. The family will receive friends Monday from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest memorials be made to the American Kidney Foundation or the American Cancer Society.
