Franklin – Malita Rawls  "Lee Lee" Askew, 99, widow of William Herbert Askew, passed away November 13, 2019 in Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center.  She was the daughter of the late Spurgeon and Lavinia Barrett Rawls and also predeceased by a brother Charles Rawls.  Malita was a retired administrative secretary for Union Camp Corporation and a member of Gates County Historical Society.  She was a member of Reynoldson Baptist Church in Gates, NC.

Left to cherish her memory is two nieces Sheryl Ann Rawls and Charla R. Darden (Roy); a great niece Crystal D. Pittman (Frank); a great-great niece Savannah Pittman; and a great-great nephew Gage Pittman.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Friday, November 15, 2019 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with Rev. Cody Brinkley officiating.   Burial will be private.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests memorial donations may be made to any favorite charity.   www.wrightfuneralhome.org
