Courtland – Madge Drake Fowler, 77, widow of William Holland "Bud" Fowler, died March 30 2008. Born in Newsoms, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Mable Whitley Drake. Mrs. Fowler was also predeceased by a sister, Emma Leigh Matthews and two brothers, Andrew and Harry Drake. She was retired from Futrell's Pharmacy, Pentapco, and High's Ice Cream. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church.
Survivors include one sister, Jean Vinson of Franklin; a sister-in-law, Vivian Drake of Franklin; two nieces, Barbara Gray of Franklin and Judy Hachey of Como, NC; and two nephews, Jimmy Drake of Franklin and Timmy Drake of Courtland.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 pm Tuesday at Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Speight officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Dam Baptist church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home one hour prior to the service and suggests memorials be made to Courtland Baptist Church, P. O.
