Franklin – Lucille Williams Bannester went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 29, 2021.
Lucille was born in Morristown, TN on May 6, 1940 to the late Earl and Virginia Barger Williams. She graduated from Morristown High School in 1958.
She moved to Franklin in 1959 where she worked as a telephone operator and eventually met her husband, William Chapman Bannester, Sr. to whom she was married for 57 years. She is survived by a sister, Earleen Williams Helton (Danny)of Johnson City; her children, Lori Milteer (Doug) of Boykins, William Bannester, Jr. of Virginia Beach, and Kassy Brannstrom (Kevin) of Memphis, TN; grandchildren, Justin Noia (Jessica), Nicole Noia Council (Ryan), Austin Brannstrom and Sydney Brannstrom; and great grandchildren Skylar Carr and Cohen Council.
Lucille graduated from SMH's LPN program in 1969. She worked as a Real Estate Agent for Venture Properties and then was the Manager at Forest Pines Apts. for 18 years where she was known to rule with an iron fist and a compassionate heart.
Lucille was an avid reader and enjoyed books about the Appalachian mountains and the Civil War. She enjoyed sailing and spending time in Pigeon Forge, TN at their quaint getaway home. She loved reading her bible, looking at her birds and flower garden, and watching her Redskins, Volunteers and Atlanta Braves.
Lucille will be remembered for her generous heart and unwavering faith in God. She was a member of Courtland Baptist Church.
A Graveside Service will be held at 1pm Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021 at the new annex of Poplar Spring Cemetery off of Homestead Rd. Memorial donations may be made to
