Obituary

Franklin – Lorrie Carraway Doughty, 93, widow of William Allen "Catfish" Doughty, who passed away February 15, 1997 and together shared 61 years of marriage, died July 12, 2008. She was born in Granville County, North Carolina, the daughter of the late Milton Frost and Mabel Nelson Carraway. She was predeceased by two brothers, Nelson and Warren Carraway. Lorrie was a member of Franklin Congregational Christian Church and worked for many years with Allen in the seafood business. She was an avid bridge player, knitter, cook, and church worker.
She was a loving mother, friend and "GaBa" and dedicated her life to her family.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Diane Doughty Tobin of Franklin; two grandchildren, Jennifer Joan Tobin of Philadelphia and Matthew Allen Tobin and wife, Laura, of Fredericksburg; two great-grandchildren, McKenzie and Emma Tobin, a special sister-in-law Ethel J. Carraway of Fredericksburg; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held Wednesday at 2 pm at Franklin Congregational Christian Church with the Rev. James Hyatt and The Rev. Edmund Pickup officiating. Inurnment will follow in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Franklin Congregational Christian Church, 412 North High Street, Franklin, Va. 23851.
