Obituary

Courtland- Lola Mason Blythe Bass, 94, widow of Wilbur Lewis Bass, passed away May 2, 2012 at Courtland Health and Rehab. A life long resident of Southampton County, Mrs. Bass was a daughter of the late Charlie and Sweetie Blythe. She was predeceased by a son, Wilbur L. Bass, Jr., sisters, Virgie Harrison, Shirley March, Stella Richardson, Vina Overby, Margaret Wilson, Claris Graham and Janice Hollowell and brothers, Edgar Blythe and Morris "Puffy" Blythe, two grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Mrs. Bass was a member of Courtland Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Marilyn B. Crowder and husband, Tommy of Newsoms and Glenda B. Blythe and husband, Joe of Franklin, two sons, Donny R. Bass and wife, Sandy and Charlie M. Bass and wife, Peggy, all of Courtland, one sister, Dot Holt and one brother, Carey Blythe both of Franklin, twelve grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 11 AM Friday, May 4, 2012 at Courtland Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Speight officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. The family will receive friends tonight, Thursday, May 3, 2012 at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin from 7 to 8:30 PM and suggest memorial donations be made to Courtland Baptist Church. www.wrightfuneralhome.org.
