Norfolk – Lizzie Kirkland Terry, 91, died April 25, 2010 at Consulate Healthcare of Norfolk. She was born in Southampton County, a daughter of the late Lillie Chitty Kirkland and James Henry Kirkland, and was predeceased by a grandchild, Michael Carpenter; two sisters, Mabel Drake and Gladys Starke, and three brothers, Ruben, Linwood, and Paul Kirkland. Mrs. Terry was a member of Capron Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Joan Gwendolyn Carpenter and her husband, Samuel, of Jacksonville, FL.; sister, Blanche R. Kirkland of Norfolk; and two grandchildren, Keith and Brian Carpenter.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Thursday at Capron Cemetery, Capron, VA., with the Rev, Chad Brady officiating. The family will receive friends at the home of Billy and Debbie Sutton, 18196 Elm Ave, Capron, Va. 23829.
