Courtland – Linard Thomas Francis, Jr., 68, passed away February 26, 2018 in his home. Thomas was retired from Southampton Correctional Center and the owner of Indian Town Shooting Preserve. He attended Ferrum College and was a former Virginia National Guardsman. He was brought up in the Capron United Methodist Church. He was predeceased by his father, Linard Thomas Francis, Sr. Thomas is survived by his two sons Matthew Thomas Francis (Carla) and Linard Brice Francis; mother Ethel Pope "Dick" Francis; sister Donna Francis Slagle; four grandchildren Matthew Thomas Francis II, Kaya McKenzie Francis, Mallory Elizabeth Francis, and Dalton Thomas Brice Francis.
