Gussie Leigh Taylor Malcolm, 93, passed away July 25, 2008. Born in Vicksville, Va., she was a daughter of the late Hugh W. and Gussie Ferguson Taylor and was predeceased by her husband Edward W. Malcolm, Sr., a son, Edward W. Malcolm, Jr., three sisters, Lucie T. Malcolm, Minnie T. Modlin and Martha T. Morris and two brothers, Hugh S. Taylor and William B. Taylor.
She was a member of Barrett's Christian Church.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Willie M. Chambers of Suffolk and Faye M. Seeley of Smithfield; her sons, Irving M. Malcolm and Hugh W. Malcolm, both of Sedley; eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Rosemont Cemetery with the Rev. Armand Jalbert officiating. The family will receive friends today (Sunday) from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, and suggest memorials be made to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 228, Ivor, VA 23866.
