Franklin – Lawrence Wester "Bozo" Councill, Jr., age 81, passed away May 11, 2017 at Courtland Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Councill was a native of Franklin and was the son of the late Lawrence Wester Councill, Sr. and Janie Turner Councill.

Mr. Councill was a 1955 graduate of Franklin High School and was a former Virginia National Guardsman serving from 1955 – 1968. He was retired from Union Camp Corporation as a Paper Mill Supervisor after 40 years of service and was a proud member of AA. He was a member of Bethel Friends Meeting.

Left to cherish his memory are three sons, Larry Wester Councill (Janet) of Virginia Beach, Neil Martin Councill of Franklin and Joseph Councill of Winchester, a sister Joyce Price of Nags Head, four grandchildren, West and Courtney Councill, Ryan Austin (Jacy) and Madison Austin Claus (Jared) and two great-grandchildren, Avery Austin and Gillian Claus.

A memorial service will be held at 2PM Wednesday May 17, 2017 in Wright Funeral Home with Wayne Blythe officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service (1 to 2) and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Franklin AA Group, C/O Franklin Baptist Church, 208 N.
