Franklin – LaRue Rainey Raiford, 81, was reunited with her Daddy, Otis I. Rainey, Mama, Lyndell W. Rainey, Son, W. Kevin Whitehead and beloved fur babies, Mickey and Bo on May 15, 2024.

Left to carry on her memory are her Husband and partner in life for 49 years, Edward 'Pete' L. Raiford, Daughter, Kande R. Cole (Butch), Daughter-in-law, Kelly T. Whitehead, Grandchildren USAF TSgt Kristopher W. Whitehead (Cindy), E. Ryan Cole, Krista L. Cole and Katelynn W. Mattox (David).

This is a letter of love for our one of a kind Wife, Mom and Ma.

Settling into a life of shift work and varying daily mealtimes. Enjoying getaways to VA Beach for anniversaries and Nags Head for the love of your second home. Holding one another's hands wherever you went. You never left his presence without giving him three kisses, touching his chin and say I love you.

You rocked me when I wasn't feeling well as a child.  Sat on the side of my bed and talked when I came home at night as a teen. Taught me how to make biscuits, season a turkey and make amazing crab cakes.  You never left my presence without kissing me, tapping the tip of my nose three times and saying I love you.

You held their hands and kissed away the boo-boos.  Taught them the love of Mickey Mouse.  Mended their da-das when they ripped so they were never without them.  Once again, you never left their presence without kissing them three times, giving a big squeeze and saying l love you.

All these memories and so many more we will carry in our hearts along with your unwavering love.  See you soon. Always XXX OOO
