Franklin – Kenneth Alan Sterling, Sr., 75, passed away April 10, 2020 at his home. Ken was a son of the late Paul Sterling and Rita McGowan Sterling and was also predeceased by his wife Glenda Whitley Helms Sterling.

Ken attended Massanutten Military Academy and University of Virginia and  was a retired engineer for International Paper. He was the former owner of Shenandoah Construction Company.

Survivors include his daughter Kristen Sterling and her husband Kenneth Bird of Surfside Beach, SC, his son Kenneth A. Sterling, Jr. of Oxford, MS, his sister Caroline S. Ennis of FL, two brothers, Richard Sterling (Linda) of Peaks Island, ME and Bill Sterling of Houston, TX, two grandchildren, Wyatt and Benjamin Sterling and Glenda's two sons Peter W. Helms (Monique) and A. Keith Helms (Star) and their families.

A private graveside service will be held Tuesday April 14, 2020 in Poplar Spring Cemetery with Rev. Drew Dunn officiating.
