Courtland- Katharine Manry Harville ,89, passed away January 30, 2015 at her home surrounded by family and friends including her best friend, her dog Bella, who made our mother's last breath on earth sweet and easy. Mrs. Harville was a native of Courtland ,VA, a daughter of the late Lucius Mahone and Katharine Shiflett Manry and was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, John William "Bill" Harville who passed away September 2, 2004. Mrs. Harville was a graduate of Greensboro Women's College and was a former teacher and lifelong homemaker. She was a member of Courtland United Methodist Church. To her family she will be remembered for her courage, devotion to family, strength and unselfishness, who truly found joy in the simplest things in life, most especially her love and support from her pet Bella.
Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Martha M. Harville and Nancy Gomez, two sons, John William Harville, Jr. and his wife Sherrie of Statesboro,GA and Edward H. Harville and his wife Betty Jo of Courtland, nine grandchildren, Andrew, Kyle, and Allison Middleton, Mathew Brown, Issac Fox, Stephen and Daniel Gomez, Michael and Katharine Harville, four great grandchildren, Cooper, Abbey, Piper and Alexis.
Mrs. Harville was predeceased by her first cousin and dear friend, Bobby and Iris Manry.
The family would like to thank Mrs. Harville's dear friend and aid, Lois and her three nurses, that where like her daughters, Sandra, Niki and Kathy from Southampton Health Care that helped her during her long battle with COPD.
A graveside funeral will be held 11Am Monday February 2, 2015 at the Manry Family cemetery on Linden Street in Courtland with the Rev. David Henson officiating. Pallbearers will be Andy Harville, Kyle Harville, Michael Harville, Bobby Cain, Troy Babb, Bill Brooks, Jr., and Colt Pulley.
The family will receive friends Sunday, February 1, from 5 to 7PM at Wright Funeral Home ,Franklin and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Courtland Rescue Squad. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
