Newsoms – Julie Mooring Bryant, 65, passed away on Friday, May 22, 2026 in her home.  Born on July 4, 1960, she was a daughter of the late Billy Ray Mooring and Lillie Dail Mooring.  She was also predeceased by her husband, James Wilson "J.W." Gray, and two brothers, Edward Earl Mooring and Johnny Ray Mooring.

Julie took pride in her yard and flowers.  She loved the sun and being outside.  If the sun was shining, she was outside.  Julie loved all animals, was very thoughtful, and would do anything for anyone.  Most of all she loved her kids and grandkids.

Julie is survived by her fiancée Randy Drake and his son Kevin of Newsoms; a sister, Elizabeth "Libby" Mooring, of Pendleton, NC; a brother, Robert Wayne Mooring (Peggy) of Chocowinity, NC; four daughters, Tessa Bryant, Cassie Bryant, Kelly Barnes (Tabb Griffey), and Story Bradley; two sons, Phillip Barnes and Adam Barnes; seven grandchildren, Kyleigh Miles, Scarlett Griffey, Elliott "Ellie" Griffey, Stevie Griffey, Adlee Griffey, Nicolas "Nick" Harris, and Noah Harris; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that were all a big part of her life.

A Graveside Memorial Service will be held at 11AM Saturday, May 30, 2026 in Beechwood Cemetery in Boykins with Pastor John Porter officiating.  The family will receive friends at Julie's house after the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to any favorite charity.
