Courtland – Joyce Gray Sipiczky, 90, passed away May 6, 2025 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Roy Lee Gray, Sr. and Katie Newsome Gray.  She was also predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Andrew Edward Sipiczky, and a brother, Roy Lee "R.L." Gray, Jr.

Joyce was Salutatorian of the Class of 1952 at Franklin High School.  She was Commissioner of the Revenue for Southampton County for 12 years and was a former secretary to the Superintendent of Southampton County Schools.  Joyce was a member of VGEA and a volunteer for AARP and the Virginia State Police.  She was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Phyllis G. Blythe of Franklin (Hennen Davis, Jr.); a special friend, Juanita Syndor; one niece and two nephews; and a host of great nieces and great nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 10AM Saturday, May 10, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Drew Dunn officiating.  The family will receive friends following the service and suggests that memorial donations be made to Hunterdale Christian Church.
