Branchville – Joyce Johnson Miles, 76, passed away January 14, 2025 in her home with her family by her side.  Born and raised in Southampton County, she was a daughter of the late Ryland Oscar Johnson and Lila Mae Story Johnson.  She was also predeceased by her husband, Earl Benjamin Miles, and a brother, James Earl Johnson.

Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  She was a member of Boykins Baptist Church.  Joyce loved doing laundry and cutting grass.

Left to cherish her memory is two daughters, Ellen M. Cutchins (Warren) of Sedley, and Betty M. Smith of Branchville; a son, William Russell Miles (Denise) of Rich Square, NC; a sister, Diane Colon; a brother, Grady L. Johnson; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1PM Saturday, January 18, 2025 in Hollywood Cemetery with Rev. Keith Jordan officiating.  The family suggests casual warm dress and any memorial donations be made to Branchville Fire Dept., P. O. Box 111, Branchville, VA  23828.
