Carrsville – Joyce Verlo McNamara, 75, passed away May 11, 2025 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in North Carolina, she was a daughter of the late Mack and Molly Butts Cherry.  She was also predeceased by a daughter, Mona Belcher; a granddaughter, Josie Copeland; and a brother, Garland "Boo Boo" Cherry.

Joyce was a hair stylist and a world class billiard player.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 28 years, John David McNamara; a daughter, Tammy Rhea; two sons, Gene and Mack Copeland; a sister, Brenda Kennedy; two brothers, Gilbert Cherry and Carlton "Peanut" Cherry; 13 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held at 1PM Thursday, May 15, 2025 in Southampton Memorial Park with Rev. Steve Gibson officiating.  The family will receive friends at 11AM in the funeral home prior to the service.
