Courtland – Joyce Carr Babb, 72, passed away on May 26, 2022 in her home. Born in Deep Creek and raised in Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of the late John Gladstone Carr and Virgie Darden.  She was also predeceased by a grandson, Joshua Babb; a sister, Patsy Carr; three brothers, Bill and Meredith Holland and Jim Carr; and a son-in-law, Keith Tomlin.

Joyce was a 1969 graduate of Windsor High School and a deli manager for Food Lion in Courtland.  She was a member of New Apostolic Church in Hopewell.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 50 years, Lewis Lee Babb; two daughters, Sarah Babb and Joyce Tomlin; two sisters, Elizabeth Britt (Herbert) and Louise Dunlow; a brother, John Carr (Virginia); a special sister-in-law, Bertha Carr; five grandchildren, Justin Benton, Dustin Benton, Mariah Babb, Nate Tomlin, and Zak Tomlin; five great grandchildren, Brylee, Joshua, Elijah, Eli, and Justin Jr.; numerous nieces and nephews; and her special four legged friend, Lucy.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Tuesday, May 31, 2022 in Wright Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends an hour before the service and at other times at Joyce and Jim's home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
