Courtland – Joseph Kindred "Joe" Magette, Sr, 87, widower of Margaret Nurney Magette, died March 10, 2010 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was born in Southampton County, a son of the late Ezra C. and Bertie Lee Faison Magette, and was also predeceased by two sisters, Bertie Lee Haslett and Rebecca M. Vaughan, and a brother, Ezra C. Magette, Jr. Joe was owner /operator of J. K. Magette Auto Repairs from 1950 until his retirement. He was an Army veteran of WW II.
Left to cherish his memory is his son, Joseph Kindred "J. K." Magette, Jr. of Courtland.
A graveside service will be conducted at 11 am Saturday at Riverside Cemetery with the Rev. Richard Gordon officiating. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Friday at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin.
