Courtland – Joseph Kindred Magette, Jr., 70, passed away February 6, 2024 in St. Mary's Hospital.  Born in Richmond, he was a son of the late Joseph K. Magette, Sr. and Margaret Nurney Magette.

Joseph was a 1971 graduate of Tidewater Academy and the owner of J. K. Magette Auto Repairs in Courtland where he retired from on July 31, 2009 after 38 years.  He was a long-time member of Manry Hunt Club and also enjoyed his friends at Davis Ridley Hunt Club.  Joseph was a member of Courtland Methodist Church.

He is survived by many cousins and friends, and a special friend Elizabeth Holliday.

A Graveside Service will be held at 4:00 PM Monday, February 12, 2024 in Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Michael Baugham officiating.  Memorial donations may be made to Courtland Methodist Church.
