Courtland –Joseph Richard "Ricky" Forrest, IV, 65, passed away May 6, 2025 in his home with family by his side.  Born and raised in Southampton County, he was a son of the late Joseph Richard Forrest, III and Jane Wiltermood Forrest.

Ricky was a truck driver.  He loved family, friends, farming, golf carting, and his grandpups.

Left to cherish his memory are a daughter, Kayla Forrest Harrison and her husband Cody; a son, Justin Forrest and his wife Stephanie; three sisters, Jean Forrest, Dori Thurman (Josh) and Debbie Peterson; a brother, John Forrest; a niece, Jazmine Powell; and three nephews, K. J. Powell and Joshua and Jacob Thurman.

A memorial service will be held at 3PM Friday, May 9, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor Matt Kidd officiating.  The family suggests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Courtland Volunteer Fire Department.
