Obituary

Franklin – Johnny Lee Scott, 80, went home to be with the Lord September 13, 2019 with his family at his bedside. He was a lifelong resident of Southampton County and a son of the late Johnnie Napoleon Scott and Leafy Marian Hatfield Scott.

He was a graduate of Franklin High School and a member of Black Creek Baptist Church.   Johnny was a longtime oil truck driver, farmer and a chicken grower. He was a former ten year veteran of the Virginia Army National Guard. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend to many.

He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 59 years Jane Elizabeth Parker  Scott, one son Johnny Lee "Scotty" Scott, Jr. (Glenda), four grandchildren, Johnny Lee Scott , III (Shannon), Jonathan Scott (Cora), Doug Bradshaw (Shannon) and Tina Bradshaw (Tara), four great grandchildren, Madison Cooley, Becca Bradshaw, Dean Scott and Bentley Bradshaw, a niece Marian Lewis and his very special dog "BooBoo".

Besides his parents he was predeceased by his sister Vivian Scott Gray.

A Funeral will be held at 2 PM Tuesday September 17, 2019 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Curtis Faison officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends in the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 PM and suggests that memorial donations be made to a favorite charity.  www.wrightfuneralhome.org
