Johnny L. Hinkle

Franklin – Johnny Lynn "John" Hinkle, 56, passed away April 2, 2026.  Born in Hickory, NC, he was the son of the late John Blair Hinkle and Faith Dianne Atkinson and was also predeceased by an infant sister, Dawn Arlee Hinkle.

John was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania.  He was a machine operator for ST Tissue and a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Ashten Putnam (Dalton) of Shelby, NC; his son, John Foss Hinkle (Taylor) of Franklin; three grandchildren, Ronan Hinkle, Krew Putnam, and Dawkins Hinkle; a brother, Woody Atkinson (Michelle) of Wake Forest, NC and their two children, Braden and Canen Atkinson; his step-father, Billy Atkinson, his former wife, Dawn Moseley, and his step mother Lynda Hinkle.

The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2026 in Wright Funeral Home.
