Boykins – Johnnie Franklin Bryant, Jr., 76, known to many as "Johnnie Boy", passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2023 in his home with his wife by his side.

Johnnie graduated from Southampton High School where he had been an avid athlete.  He was a dedicated employee at Hercules for 37 years.

He was predeceased by his parents, Johnnie F. Bryant, Sr. and Mary Violet Fuller Bryant, as well as two brothers and a sister:  Bobby, Bill, and Carolyn Bryant

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 17 years, Nola Lynne Bryant; his children, Scott Bryant (Kim) and Carolyn Blackford (Colt); his grandchildren, McKayla Dunn (Noah), Sheridan West, Dale Bryant, Renee Bryant, Rhett West, Alyssa West, and Jett West; a special aunt, Eunice B. Everett; and may other nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

We would like to extend a special thanks to Ruth Barham, Johnnie's daily nurse's aide, and Bon Secours Hospice.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, with Rev. Raymond Bunn officiating.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Boykins Vol. Fire Dept. or Boykins Vol. Rescue Squad.
