Franklin – John Everette Whitley, 70, passed away December 18, 2017. He was born in Hampton and was a longtime resident of Franklin. Mr. Whitley was the son of the late Boyce Everette Whitley and Sally Ann Crockett Whitley.

Mr. Whitley was a US Navy Veteran and was retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation.

Survivors include his son Judson Whitley of Pensacola, FL, his sisters, Diane W. Sparzak of Ocean City, MD and Judy Gray Long (Michael) of Carrsville and two grandchildren.

A funeral will be held at 10 AM Friday December 29, 2017 at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
