Carrsville – John Brian Stephens, 60, passed away February 25, 2026.  Born in Franklin and raised in Walters, he was a son of the late John William "Billy" Stephens, Jr. and Faye Edwards Stephens.

Brian was a graduate of Isle of Wight Academy and attended Ferrum College.  He was a former small engine mechanic at Herrala Brothers and was brought up in Colosse Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his son, Brian Shane Stephens and his wife Ashley; a sister, Jennifer Bailey and her husband Chris; grandsons, Colton Stephens and Riley Stephens; nephew, Owen Bailey; his lifetime partner, Elaine Umphlette; and a host of extended family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
