Zuni- John Joseph Sobotor, Jr., 80, passed away November 22, 2024 in his home with family by his side.  Born in Hagerstown, MD, he was a son of the late John Joseph Sobotor, Sr. and Irene Bethel Walden Sobotor and was also predeceased by a sister, Anna Sobotor.

John was a graduate of North Hagerstown High School and a retired assembly line worker for Mack Truck in Hagerstown.  He was a former union representative for The United Auto Workers(UAW).

Survivors include his wife of  59  years, Joan Marie Barrett  Sobotor; a daughter, Raquel Ann Locklear (James); a son, John Joseph Sobotor, III; a sister, Norma Wolf; a brother, Steve Sobotor; and four granddaughters, Caitlin Sobotor, Kara Roberts, Jamie Locklear, and Avianna Sobotor; and four great grandchildren, K'Dy Williams, Malkeveem Williams, Gabriel Sosa, Kimara Sobotor.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 27, 2024 in St. Jude Catholic Church with Fr. Emmanuel Mensah officiating. Burial will follow in the Sobotor Family Cemetery, 16633 Womble Mill Road, Zuni, VA.

The family will receive friends Tuesday November 26, from 6 to 8 PM at Wright Funeral Home.
