Capron – John Henry Smith, 72, passed away November 30, 2021 in his home. Born in Richmond on January 4, 1949, he was a son of the late Charlie Henry Smith, Jr. and Lydia Mixon Smith.  He was also predeceased by a brother, Arthur Smith.

John was a Boiler Plant Operator for Southampton Correctional Center for 29 years.  He was a member of the Sons of the Confederacy.

Left to cherish his memory is his fiancé, Karen Leigh Fraser; a daughter, Michelle Smith; a son, Neel Sexton; two sisters, Karen Abrahamian and Jane Carol Perkins (Alan); two brothers, Jerry Smith (Brenda) and Ricky Smith; a sister-in-law, Cheryl Smith; a brother-in-law, Ronald Mangus; three granddaughters, Trina, Mary, and Rosanna; and four great grandchildren, Abigail, Braydon, Hunter, and KC.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday, December 2, 2021 in Wright Funeral Home.
