Yale – John Henry Seymour, 56, passed away August 14, 2011 at his residence. He was born in Fairfax County and was predeceased by his father, William Eston Seymour and two sisters, Gladys Kearns and Jeanie Lloyd. He was a foreman with Express Containers of Norfolk and had been with the company over 30 years. John was a member of the International Longshoreman Union.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 37 years, Elizabeth Skinner Lassiter Seymour; his mother, Ruby Virginia Seymour; one sister, Linda A. Searfoss; a special niece, Angela Mullins and her husband, Ricky, all of Alexandria; a host of other nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Halle.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 am Friday, August 19, 2011 at Wright Funeral Home in Franklin with the Rev. Kevin Niles officiating. Interment will follow at Poplar Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 pm Thursday at the funeral home and other times at the home of Jill Felton Bryant, 23382 Felton Drive, Capron, Va. Memorials may be made to any local rescue squad.
