Franklin – John William Lowry, Jr., 83, passed away on December 8, 2023 in his home with his family by his side.  Born in Bloomington, IL and raised in Montana, he was a son of the late John William Lowry, Sr. and Marie Sasse Lowry.  He was also predeceased by four siblings, Margie, Martha, Phyllis and Jack.  John was also a former resident of Portsmouth, Chesapeake, Sparta, NC and Shady Valley, TN.

John was a US Marine Corp. veteran and a woodworker for Norfolk Naval Shipyard.  He was a member of Sycamore Baptist Church.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Brenda Daniels Lowry; two sons, Kerry William Lowry (Mirla) and John Keith Lowry (Noelle); six grandchildren, Tommy, Elizabeth, Amelia, Joey, and Sophia Lowry and Danny Chacone; and several nieces and nephews.

A Graveside Service with USMC Honors will be held at 1PM Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery with Rev. Tracey Pugh officiating.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial donations be made to the National Fabry Disease Foundation, 144 E. King Street, Hillsborough, NC 27278.
