Obituary

Ivor – John William "Jack" Lowe, 84, passed away Thursday, January 16, 2025.  Jack was a native of Southampton County and was a son of the late J. B. and Rebecca Rollison Lowe.  He was also predeceased by his beloved wife of 61 years, Janette Felts Lowe, and his sister, Carol.

A longtime area farmer and avid outdoorsman, Jack had a lifelong love of hunting.   That love of the outdoors started with his father, continued with his sons and his grandsons.  He was a member of Ivor United Methodist Church where he was a trustee for over 40 years and a member of B & B Hunt Club for over 52 years.

Survivors include his three children, Robyn Lowe Hall (Doug), John W. Lowe, Jr. (Cindy), and Bryan C. Lowe (Becky); grandchildren, Jay Fox (Carrie), Peter Fox (Yuko), Sam Fox (Alexis), Joseph Fox, Winston Lowe (Lindsay), Matthew Lowe (Kelsey), Marindy Creef, and Morgan Casper (Daniel); 16 great grandchildren; his sisters, Betty Sue Young (Walter), Ann Rawls (John), and Dawn Mosena (Richard); and nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11AM Monday, January 20, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Cliff Fritzinger officiating.  The burial will follow in Rosemont Cemetery in Sedley.  Memorial donations may be made to Ivor United Methodist Church or Ivor Volunteer Fire Department.  The children would like to thank Jack's caregivers, Jeanette Binns, Homer Edwards, Wilbur Seaborne, and Stephanie Bunn for their loving care.
