Courtland – John Eston Greene, 77, passed away November 27, 2016 at Southside Regional Medical Center. John was a native of Louisa County, VA and was a son of the late Arthur C. Greene and Emma Frances Ward Greene. He was also predeceased by a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Greene.

John was a US Army Veteran and he retired from Lowes as a Manager and was a Master Woodworker.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 58 ½ years, Faye Carter Greene, two daughters, Darlene Jones (Tommy) of Trappe, MD and Melissa Overstreet (Rob) of Franklin, one son, John E. "Butch" Greene, Jr of Irmo, SC, four sisters, Lois Faulkner, Joyce Donovan, Doris Tuttle and Carolyn Snelson, one brother, Russell Greene and seven grandchildren, Krystle Powers, Brittany Powers, Becky Greene, Jessica Greene, Chelsea Overstreet, Hannah Overstreet and Austin Overstreet.

A memorial service will be held at 1 PM Saturday, December 3, 2016 at Black Creek Baptist Church, 34163 Vicksville Rd., Franklin, VA 23851 with Rev. Hoyle Green officiating. A reception will be held in the fellowship hall following the service.
