Suffolk - John Henry Goodman, 80, passed away August 15, 2018, in his home. John Henry was a native of Nansemond County and was a son of the late Charlie and Emma Ellis Goodman. He was also predeceased by his wife Charlotte Holt Goodman; a son Keith Holt "Puddin" Goodman; a brother Thomas Goodman; and two sisters Louise Pierce and Elizabeth Jones. John Henry was a former Suffolk fireman, a long time farmer, and was the owner of Goodman and Son Farm Service. He was a member of the Suffolk Moose Lodge and the Holland Volunteer Fire Department.

Left to cherish his memory is one son Winston T. "Tommy" Goodman (Pamela); two grandchildren Skylar Tate Goodman and Winston "Chad" Goodman; former daughter-in-law Wanda Goodman Dickey; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 2 PM Saturday, August 18, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home, Franklin with Rev. Dr. Dave Meadors officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and at other times at Tommy and Pam's home at 4009 Manning Road, Suffolk.
