Franklin – John Lundy Belcher, 78, passed away July 27, 2014 at his home. He was a son of the late Rev. James Roy Belcher, Sr. and Mary Alice Mercer Belcher and was predeceased by two brothers, Eugene Belcher and James R. Belcher, Jr. John had retired as owner and operator of Belcher's Services LLC and was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Faye Akers Belcher; three sons, James "Jim" Belcher (Judy) and Sanford Belcher (Jeanette) both of Franklin and Greg Belcher (Helene "Boo") of Towson, MD; one brother, Roland Keith Belcher of Denver, CO; five grandchildren, J. T., Scott, Daniel, Elizabeth and Clayton Belcher and two great-grandchildren, Elijah and Cadence Belcher.

The funeral service will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, July 30, 2014 at High Street United Methodist Church, 31164 Camp Parkway, Courtland, VA with the Rev. James H. Hyatt, Jr. officiating. Burial will be private at Poplar Spring Cemetery. A reception will follow at the church after the service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Wright Funeral Home and suggests memorials be made to Franklin Cooperative Ministries, 511 N. Main Street, Franklin, VA 23851.
