Newsoms – Joseph Earl "Joey" Byrd, Jr., 52, passed away January 15, 2021 in his home with his loving family by his side.

Joey was a graduate of Manor High School in Portsmouth and a supervisor for Dominion Power.  He was a member of S&S Hunt Club, loved running dogs, enjoyed fishing, and was first mate of the Laura T.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 33 years, Ann-Marie Byrd; his parents, Joseph Earl Byrd, Sr. and Barbara Burchett Byrd of Portsmouth; two daughters, Sarah, E. Strong and her husband Zach of Suffolk and Josie Byrd; a sister, Bobbie Byrd of Portsmouth; five grandchildren, Novaleigh and Karleigh Bell and Mason, Colton and Brycen Strong; two nephews, Koby and Kaiden; lots of aunts and uncles, cousins, and so many friends.

Due to the Covid pandemic, services will be held at a later date.
