Franklin – Joan Pauline Myrick, 65, passed away October 8, 2017 at her home.

Joan was a native of New York and a daughter of the late Henry and Gloria Myrick. She was a graduate of Loma Linda University and held a Master's Degree from Southern Connecticut State College. She was a Sergeant in the US Army, a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Murfreesboro, NC. and was a Security Officer with Luna Development.

Survivors include three sisters, Wendy Myrick of Suitland, MD, Sherri Stark of Richmond and Julie Artis of Hampton and nieces and nephews.

A memorial service with Military Honors will be held at 12 noon Tuesday October 17, 2017 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church at 110 West Lewistown Rd., Murfreesboro, NC. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Albert G. Horton Jr, Memorial Veterans Cemetery. www.wrightfuneralhome.org
