North Chesterfield – Jimmie Lee Bryan, 68, transitioned peacefully into eternal rest April 14, 2018 following a brief illness. Born in Augusta, Georgia, Jimmie was predeceased in death by his parents George Allen and Virginia Elizabeth Lee Bryant, and three brothers: George Bryant, Joe "Peter" Bryant, and Preston Bryan.

Jimmie was a graduate of Northampton County High School in North Carolina. Jimmie was a laborer by choice, and that love of working with his hands continued into retirement. His favorite hobbies included woodworking and gardening, and he could often be found in his shed or outside if the weather was warm.

Jimmie is survived by the love of his life and life partner, Freda Atkins; daughter Amy Bryan Phillips (Scott); son Edward Allen Bryan; sisters Marie Harrison and Nora Rawls; sister-in-law Shirley Bryant; three grandchildren, Lillie Phillips, Laney Phillips, and Alexander Bryan; special "granddaughter" Bobbie Atkins (Skip); and a host of nieces, nephews. Jimmie is also survived by his girlfriend's family whom he felt were his family as well, including her 6 children, a host of grandchildren, and even a few great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 29, 2018 in Wright Funeral Home.
