Franklin – Jerry Dodson "Tex" McKinney, 71, passed away February 18, 2023 in his home.  He was the son of the late Johnny Dodson McKinney and Victoria Lynch McKinney.  Tex was also predeceased by two sisters, Mary Jane Murray and Nancy Traylor.

Tex was a retired Lieutenant for the Department of Corrections.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Fancher-McKinney; his step-daughter, Veronica Democko; his sister, Peggy Moss; three brothers, Glenn McKinney, John Wayne McKinney and Willie McKinney; and two grandsons, Isaac Bueno and Andrew Bueno.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in Wright Funeral Home with Pastor William McCarty officiating.  Memorial donations may be made in memory of Tex to the American Heart Association.
