Obituary

Franklin - Jerry Reid Bryant, 72, passed away peacefully on March 4, 2021 with family by his side after a stroke.  Jerry graduated from Southampton High School in 1967 and Virginia Tech in 1971 with a degree in Business Management.  During a successful career in banking, he impacted countless lives by just being himself. He gave selflessly of his time and himself to the community and his church. Jerry made everyone feel loved and important. He was a devoted husband, an outstanding father, and an amazing Pop.

Memories of him will be forever cherished by his wife of 45 years, Beverly Council Bryant; his sons, Michael Reid Bryant (Mecalah) of Ivor, Virginia and Bentrick Alton Bryant (Mary) of Lynchburg, Virginia; his grandkids, Asher, Harper and Bellamy Bryant; and grandpups Eris and Arthas.  Also holding them close will be his brothers Leroy "Peanut" Bryant (Texie) and Tommy Bryant (Brenda) and many nieces and nephews.

He is now arm in arm with his parents, George Leroy Bryant Sr. and Edna Bradshaw Bryant, and his beloved sister, Martha Rowe Bryant Croft (Bob) who predeceased him.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 10 at 1 pm at Wright Funeral Home with services following at 2.  Interment will be private.  Safety requires that everyone adhere to masks and social distancing guidelines.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Lions Club of Franklin or The 4H Center in Wakefield.
