Courtland – Jeri Simmons Daniel, 66, passed away February 12, 2025 in Southampton Memorial Hospital.  Born in Norfolk on October 12, 1958, she was the daughter of the late Malcolm Davis Simmons and Jessie Mae Davis Simmons.

Jeri was a graduate of Southampton High School and was a former Deputy Treasurer for Southampton County.  She was a member of High Street United Methodist Church.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 36 years, Danny Hale Daniel; a son, Ian Nicholas Daniel and his wife Sarah; two grandchildren, Harper Addison Daniel and Henley Haywood Daniel; an aunt, Stella Griggs; a niece, Audrey Simmons Ward and her husband Shane; two great nieces, Taylor and Tasia; a great nephew, Shane Ward, Jr.; and a special friend (sister), Tammy Fowler.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM Wednesday, February 19, 2025 in Wright Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Moore officiating.  Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery.  The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the funeral home and suggests that memorial donations be made to the ALS Association or the American Cancer Society.
