Jeffrey Miles
Fox
Mar 28, 1958 — May 29, 2026
Capron
Capron - Jeffrey Miles Fox, passed away on Friday, May 29th, at Virginia Beach General. Born on March 28th, 1958 in Petersburg, Virginia to the late John Elwood Fox, Jr. and June Harrison Fox.
Jeff grew up and lived his whole life as a resident of Capron. He was a 1978 graduate of Southampton Academy and a graduate of Paul D. Camp Community College.
Throughout his life, Jeff was a dedicated farmer, both for his own farm and for the Virginia Department of Corrections Agribusiness Program. His love for agriculture began in childhood and never waned, keeping up with advances in agricultural technology well after his retirement.
Jeff was an avid hunter and fisherman, holding many years of membership with the Indiantown Hunt Club, where he made many incredible friends. He was also a proud former member of Capron Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
A naturally gifted athlete, Jeff enjoyed playing many varieties of sports. He played baseball, basketball, and football for Southampton Academy and was on the 1976 State Championship Football team. Into adulthood, he enjoyed many rounds of golf and played multiple years of fast-pitch softball. In addition to participating in sports, Jeff was a die-hard NASCAR fan and attended races at multiple tracks. Many Sundays were spent watching the races.
Jeff is remembered by loved ones for his kindheartedness, compassion, his easygoing spirit, and for being a gentle soul.
Jeff is survived by his two sons, Taylor Andrew Fox (Emily Rountree) and Joel Harrison Fox (Kaelie Altizer); his mother, June Harrison Fox; his brother, John Powell Fox; and his multiple nephews and their families. He is preceded in death by his father, John Elwood Fox, Jr.
His family would like to extend their sincerest gratitude for the care and support he received at Virginia Beach General Hospital in the last few weeks of his life.
Visitation will take place from 6-8PM Thursday, June 4, 2026 at Wright Funeral Home. While the family will hold a private service, they would like to invite friends and loved ones to join them at Indiantown Hunt Club on Friday, June 5, from 5 to 7PM as they gather to celebrate Jeff's life and share memories of the time they were fortunate to have with him.
Donations in Jeff's memory may be made to Capron Volunteer Fire and Rescue.
