Franklin – Jeffie Martin Daughtrey Whitley, 80, died December 29, 2007. A native of Mississippi, she was a daughter of the late Harper and Roxie Shettles Martin. Mrs. Whitley was predeceased by two husbands, Dwight Martin and William Daughtrey, a son, Kenneth Martin, and two brothers, George and Charles Martin. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Eager Beaver Club, Happy Homemaker Club, and the Beaver Dam Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Pamela Wood and husband, Roger, of Hartwell, Ga.; a sister, Sarah Jane Briney and husband, Richard, of Elko, Mn.; a brother, Jack Martin and wife, Jean, of Courtland; two grandchildren, Renee Adams and husband, Russell, and Teresa Grubbs, all of Hartwell, Ga.; five great-grandchildren, Olivia , Zachery, and Aiden Adams, Gynger and Nathan Grubbs. Her marriage to William Daughtrey gave her five step-children, William Daughtrey, James Daughtrey, Charles Daughtrey, Peggy Cutchin, Joe Etta Rice; twelve step-grandchildren, and fourteen step-great-grandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 am Monday in the chapel of Wright Funeral Home with the Rev. Dr. Richard Peerey officiating. Burial will be at 1 pm Wednesday in Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca, SC. An Eastern Star Service will be conducted at 7 pm Sunday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends following the service.
