Newsoms – Mary Jean "Jeanne" Harness, 65, passed away unexpectedly on March 17, 2022 in her home.  Born in Morgantown, WV, she was the daughter of the late Don and Edna Johnson.  She was also predeceased by a grandbaby, Savannah; two brothers, Richard and Dale Johnson; and her step-mother, Shirley Jean Johnson.

Jeanne was an accountant for Southampton County Utility Department.  She was a life member and former President of the VFW Post #4411 Auxiliary and was the first President to usher men into the women's auxiliary.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 44 years, Robert Donovan Harness; two daughters, Dinah Kreitz (Bob) and Jennifer Patterson (Mark); two brothers, William Johnson and Kenneth Lee Johnson; and seven grandchildren, Ali, Shane, Hayden, James, Skylar, Bruce, and Kaylee.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2PM Friday, March 25, 2022 at the VFW Post #4411, 3385 Beaverdam Rd., Franklin, with Dr. John Robbins officiating.
