Franklin - Jeanne Ashby Furrh, 80, died August 3, 2009 at Southampton Memorial Hospital. She was born in Charleston, West Virginia, the only child of Eunice Jeanne Hereford and John Kenna Ashby.
Jeanne graduated from Charleston High School and then enrolled at Mary Baldwin College, from which she graduated in 1950. She was an Interior Designer with Cofer Interiors of Norfolk, Virginia, until she moved to Franklin in 1979, where she continued her design work for many years. Jeanne was a member of the DAR, the Garden Club of Virginia, and a staunch supporter of the Humane Society.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm Wednesday at Poplar Spring Cemetery with the Rev. James W. Browder, III officiating.
